Dr. George Corwell, director of the Office of Education for the New Jersey Catholic Conference, testified on behalf of the Council for American Private Education (NJ CAPE), in front of the Senate Budget Committee on March 27. As treasurer of NJ CAPE - - which is a coalition of state affiliates serving private elementary and secondary schools - - Dr. Corwell's remarks focused on an increase in nonpublic school transportation to $1,300 per student and an increase in compensatory education funding, which covers the areas of remedial language arts and mathematics. In the coming weeks, an Action Alert will be issued with instructions for contacting your legislators. Click HERE to read Dr. Corwell's full testimony.
